Siem Reap, Cambodia – Students from the Faculty of Agriculture at Angkor University (AU) recently exchanged the classroom for the field during an insightful study visit to the Natural Safe Farm Agriculture Community (Ecofarm). The farm, located in Chrey Khang Tboung Village, Soutr Nikom District, served as a living laboratory for the students.
This critical study tour enabled students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, focusing on the practical applications of sustainable farming. Key learning outcomes from the visit included:
- Observation of Safe Farming Techniques: Directly observing methods used to cultivate crops without harmful chemicals.
- Community Agriculture Model: Understanding the operational management and market chain of a successful local farm community.
- Practical Problem-Solving: Discussing site-specific challenges with Ecofarm operators, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and on-the-ground reality.
Angkor University's Faculty of Agriculture is committed to experiential learning, ensuring that its future agricultural experts are not only theoretically sound but also possess the practical skills necessary to drive sustainable development in the Cambodian farm sector.
