On January 16, 2026, Angkor University (AU) successfully hosted a seminar for the Boosting Excellence of Second-Tier Higher Education Institutions (BEST) project. The event brought together approximately 350 participants, including university leadership, lecturers, staff, and students, reflecting the high level of institutional commitment to this initiative.

The BEST project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union, represents a high-impact partnership between seven prestigious institutions across Europe and Southeast Asia:

  • Europe: Tor Vergata University (Italy), University of Piraeus (Greece), and IHF (Belgium).

  • Southeast Asia: Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (Vietnam), University of Finance and Business Administration (Vietnam), Angkor University (Cambodia), and Cambodia-Asia Polytechnic Institute (Cambodia).

The seminar focused on six key Working Groups (WGs) designed to modernize the university's infrastructure:

  1. Institutional Internationalization: Setting global benchmarks for university operations.

  2. Academic Development: Integrating international standards into the core curriculum.

  3. Research Collaboration: Engaging faculty in cross-border research initiatives.

  4. Mobility Coordination: Streamlining student and staff exchange programs.

  5. Global Networking: Building sustainable partnerships with international entities.

  6. Digital Collaboration: Leveraging technology to enhance cross-institutional work.

Through this project, AU continues to solidify its reputation as a leading institution dedicated to providing its students with a world-class educational environment.
