Angkor University Leadership Joins National Research Forum and STEM Expo 2025

The leadership and management team of Angkor University (AU) recently participated in the significant “National Research Forum and Higher Education STEM Expo 2025.” The event, held under the theme “Research for Development in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” marks a crucial moment in Cambodia’s educational landscape.

High-Level Participation and Focus on AI

The Forum and Expo's opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC).

AU’s participation underscores its deep commitment to aligning with national goals, particularly in the swiftly evolving domain of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its application for development. The discussions at the event underscored the need to integrate advanced research and digital innovation into higher education curricula.

Driving Internationalization and Quality Enhancement

Angkor University is actively implementing comprehensive capacity-building and human resource quality enhancement programs as part of its strategic move toward internationalization.

Crucially, these ambitious initiatives are supported by vital funding from the European Union. This partnership is instrumental in helping AU meet international standards of academic excellence and research capability.

Cultivating a Future-Ready Learning Environment

A key focus of the university’s strategy is strengthening the culture of learning across several high-priority areas:

- Science and Technology

- Research and Digital Innovation

- Artificial Intelligence

AU is also specifically encouraging research in the English language to ensure that its academic output is accessible and competitive on the global stage. These proactive measures are strategically designed to equip all AU students with the essential knowledge, skills, and modern competencies needed to thrive in their future careers and contribute to national development.
