Angkor University’s Faculty of Public Health Leads Successful Internship for Midwifery Students at Siem Reap Referral Hospital

The Faculty of Public Health at Angkor University guided 47 Midwifery students (6th batch, 3rd year, 1st semester) through a 4-week internship at Siem Reap Referral Hospital.

This internship is an essential part of their program, allowing students to apply their classroom knowledge in real clinical settings under experienced healthcare professionals. They gained experience in various hospital areas, including maternity, labor and delivery, and antenatal and postnatal care.

The Faculty worked closely with hospital staff to ensure the internship was educational and impactful. Students received mentorship, assisted with patient care, observed live births, and followed strict ethical standards.

“This internship is vital for shaping skilled midwives ready to serve communities,” said a faculty coordinator. “We appreciate our students’ dedication and thank Siem Reap Referral Hospital for its support.”

As the internship concluded, students expressed gratitude for the invaluable experience and affirmed their readiness to advance in their studies and future careers. The Faculty of Public Health continues to prioritize experiential learning, aligning with Angkor University’s mission to produce qualified healthcare professionals who can meet the growing health needs of Cambodia and beyond.
